Autonomous Car

An Autonomous Car is a car which does not need a driver in order to actually drive as it uses artificial intelligence in order to sense it’s surroundings and is able to navigate itself to its destination.

Driver-less cars are becoming more wanted on the market in countries such as USA, Canada and the UK. The UK has actually announced funding for the autonomous cars following Brexit. (see article below)

Google launched a ‘Self-Driving Car Project’. In their video of how it works it explains how the computer is trained to detect movement of other cars, cyclists and people around the car in order to keep everyone and everything safe. They mention that the project is not yet complete and obviously has a lot of work to do before it is but they gradually assess different situations of how the car can work on the road with just the use of artificial intelligence.
