Ava Lovelace was a British
mathematician and writer born in 1815. She was known as the first official
computer programmer after translating Italian mathematician Louis Menebrea’s
article from French to English on Charles Babbage’s machine, the Analytical
Engine, whilst also adding her own ideas of the machine. The Analytical Engine
was not only the first type of computer made but also a follow up from Charles
Babbage’s unfinished work on the Difference Engine. Lovelace had a huge
understanding, better than anyone else, in fact of the Analytical Engine and created
the Algorithm, which operates calculations and tasks, as she believed there,
was more to it than just numbers. Unfortunately, Lovelace’s work never got
carried out as she died before it could be tested.
